4 Year Old Inspires At Zucchini Fashion Summer Camp 2018@Zucchini
The 2018 Zucchini Fashion Summer Camp commenced on Monday, 6th August 2018. Our newly designed, equipped and elegant fashion lab specifically tailored towards children development was unveiled for use. It was super fulfilling seeing the children excited, energetic and responsive as the introductory class commenced.
Standing out at the opening class of the summer camp was a four year old. Though the summer camp admits children from five years and above, the dad persuaded us to admit her insisting that she would cope. Oh! how we loved that she came and we accepted to admit her.
Lluvia is super smart! She inspires us more that kids are capable of much more than we think; reinforcing our belief as stated in the words of Jess Liar – “Children are not to be moulded, but people to be unfolded“. Lluvia kept stating, “aunty, I want to sew and I’m here to learn how to do it well so I can make fine clothes. Don’t worry, I will make a skirt for you“. She did exceptionally well in her worksheet and was ready to learn more but we had to follow the curriculum.
First day of the summer camp was fun and of course, the children learnt through play while also bringing into practical terms what was learnt in school. Yes, we’re set on the journey into the world of fashion. The kids were so excited as they were allocated sewing machines appropriate to their age. It’s so certain their creative skills are set for a new game.
On our part, this is one goal we strive for: “One hundred years from now, it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove, but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child” (Forest E. Witcraft)
