Our Philosophy

Children Fashion … Simply Exquisite is the way we summarize our philosophy of caring for the needs of child – social well-being, education and skill development, and health. Children are meant to be cared for, nurtured and provided the enable environment and relevant skills that will make them useful human beings to themselves and the community.

While also infusing culture, especially fashion cultures into our clothing collections for children also ensures to create an awareness of our local cultures and tradition, providing an opportunity to showcase the beautiful aspects of our local artistry, creating an intrinsic value with the hope of ensuring generational relevance and further improvements.

Children Centred

Children are at the core of what we do at Zucchini Outfits. They are the essence of our existence as a company, as they inform our fashion products, as well as our children development programmes and initiatives. To us at Zucchini Outfits, the words of C. S. Lewis; “Children are not a distraction from the most important work, they are the most important work”. We take this seriously and with a high sense of responsibility which is reflected both in our fashion products and other kiddies programme we engage in.

We believe that providing children the best today in terms of education, health and social well-being, we are creating a better tomorrow for the child but also for the community at large. We must state categorically that this is our utmost philosophy as an organization: “One hundred years from now, it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove, but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child” (Forest E. Witcraft).

Culture Conservation

Our choice of using our locally made fabrics for our kiddies fashion products provides us the leverage to showcase our beautiful, unique cultural heritage while building a global afro-centric children fashion brand. Through our fashion products, we employ our culturally produced attires which has been in practice for centuries. We use these fabrics in ways and fashion styles that seek to promote and preserve our cultural assets, and offering children unique, and colourful fashion pieces.

We combine the expertise and experience of our local artisans – from tie and dye in the production of Adire, to the hand looming and weaving of Aso Oke, and the creative concepts of our designers – we fuse tradition, culture and fashion together, delivering unique and innovative designs and styles.

Community Commitment

Improving the socio-economic status of our community is vital to us – offering stable jobs, helping our employees and partners fulfill their goals and aspirations, and continuing to expand employment opportunities as we expand and grow our business is top on our agenda.

As we continue to expand our products and advance our business prospects, our involvement with our artisans increases, ensuring they benefit greatly, thus improving their quality of lives and the overall well being of their communities. Our actions will constantly be driven by the improvement of these communities.

By supporting our local artisans, we help preserve our traditions and culture. This implies that every purchase made positively impacts the livelihood of these communities. We also do invest a portion of our profits into education, health and the social well-being of children to ensure better and improved communities.
